Citi 6 month look back

I know Citi is inquiry sensitive, and doesn't like to see card apps in the last 6 months for new apps and CLIs, but does that include all inquiries or just card inquiries? I haven't applied for a card in over 2 years, and the only inquiries on my report from the last 6 months are a single from the mortgage I closed in November, and a handful from a car purchase in September 2021.

I just requested a CLI and the only denial reason was recent inquiries. Lowest score is EQ 795. I put plenty of spend through the card and don't carry a balance. Is it worth a recon since the bulk of the inquiries are from the dealer blasting my app, or should I just wait until the March/April time frame and ask again?

Re: Citi 6 month look back

I've had citi for several years now and in my opinion I get more increases when I don't ask. I just got an email tonight they've giving me another increase when  i look back and since 10/20/20 I've gotten 3 increase's with out asking. I have 3 inq. 1 in the last 6 months. Maybe that's the formula. Ignore them. Good luck

Any inquiries.

They've also known to review things for up to 12 months preceding any given requests. If you decide to pursue any reconsideration efforts, be aware they may HP. Personally, I would let time do its thing and try the CLI request in the next few months.

It's funny and I get just the opposite. Since having the Citi-Costco, I have tried asking for CLIs, I have tried leaving them a lone and not asking for CLIs, but no matter what, I never get one.

Re: Citi 6 month look back

My first citi card was an AA with a low 5,000 limit and  my sores were around 700 and if I didn't get denied when I asked citi would only give me 1,000 at a time. Now my scores are around 780-815 I haven't asked for an increase in over 3yrs and the increase they just gave me was 5,000 a total of 12,000 since 10/20/20. So maybe it's science I don't understand I assumed it's like most credit as soon as you don't want or need it it's available

Re: Citi 6 month look back

I've received plenty of increases in the past - $6500 SL that is now at $19k. And with recent hard pulls, too which is the funny thing. I'm hoping this is just the computer flagging the blast from the dealer (I think was 7 different pulls - I hate when they do this) as some kind of risky behavior and not something else.
