Citi Credit Line Increase rejection due to returned payment

Hi,

I've made it a personal mission of mine to request a Citi credit line increase on my Double Cash Card every 180 days.  However, recently, my CLI was denied because of a payment that was returned to my bank due to insufficient funds.  Unfortunately I was in the process of transitioning bank accounts and forgot to cancel this auto-bill-pay.

Does anyone know how long it would take for this "blemish" to fall off my account allowing me to request another CLI?  Just curious if anyone has any perspective on this. As I'm sure you know, the Citi Credit Line Increase Department refuses to speak to you over the phone...

Thanks in advance!

Citi is pretty conservative and a returned payment is a major deal to most banks. I’d think it’ll be a factor for a minimum of a year, possibly up to two years, before they’ll be willing to look past it, provided your account management is ideal during that time.

Re: Citi Credit Line Increase rejection due to returned payment

When your cli request is submitted the line management team looks at the previous 12 month account history. So wait at least a year before that won't affect you. Also, you can speak to a rep about your request just ask for the credit line management team.
