Citi Simplicity or Chase Freedom?

Scratch that first answer. idk why but I replaced Freedom with Slate in my mind for some reason. What do you need from the card you choose? These are very different.

What do you want the card to do for you?  That should help you figure it out.  The 2 cards do different things.  The Freedom is a cashback card and the Simplicity is a balance transfer card.  So depending on what you want the card to do for you, weigh your option and decide.

Ohh! I didn't realiZe the simplicity was balance transfer card. I thought they were both rewards. I just signed up for citi double cash back. So maybe the simplicity is better for me. But I think maybe I got excited bc Chase sent me a pre-approved offer and I've been eyeing them. I know I'm not guaranteed to be approved though.

...let me ask another question. Do you actually need a bt card? Or any card really? At the moment it seems like your simply excited about the pre-approval being available.

Each application will cost you a hardpull so make sure it is a card that you really need.

I didn't apply. I didn't realize it would be a HP. I thought when they send you a pre-approval and you apply its a soft pull. I just applied for citi CB and got approved for only 1k. I was going to call and ask for a credit increase upon activation. People told me it would be a HP, so I think I might just stay with Citi CB and just take that 1 hit and apply for the other cards later on. It's just I've been waiting for chase to send me an offer and they finally did. But I know I'm not guaranteed to get approved. 😕
