Citi Simplicity or DC

Is either one 'easier' to get approval?
Both have the same BT options right now, but DC has rewards.
How is Citi with PCing cards?

Re: Citi Simplicity or DC

Personally I'd go straight for DC. Unless the Simplicity offered a bonus and then PC to DC. Many here have PC'd with Citi. I have no personal experience with this as I apped for the only card I wanted with Citi from the start.

I would assume that the Double Cash, Simplicity, ThankYou Preferred and Diamond Preferred have the same underwriting requirements. If you are looking for a 0% balance transfer card you really would not want to be utilizing the card for purchases while there is a balance transfer on the account. You could, but it is not advised as all payments will go towards the purchases with the higher APR-so you would have to pay the purchases in full each month plus extra to pay down the principal on the balance transfer.  If that works for you, great-go Double Cash.

I would skip Simplicity alltogether. From what I have read here, Simplicity has not been eligible for a product change. If you need a long term 0% balance transfer card, the Diamond Preferred card is great as it is at 0% for 21 months. Diamond Preferred is eligible to be product changed, so once your balance transfer is paid off, you could ask them to change the card to Double Cash.

Citibank is pretty good about product changes (except Simplicity). Just be aware that they are also known for some paltry starting credit lines.

Note if you get the Simplicity you absolutely cannot PC it later. Citi will not budge on it. So I'd just apply for the Double Cash.

It is very true however that Citi is often stingy on starting limits regardless of product
