We were supposed to close February 22nd. We are guessing it is going to be delayed a few days to a week since the appraiser isn't expected back to sign off on a few corrected issues until Monday.
I wouldent really worry about the pre qual, I was always denied and just applied after the close of my house, approved instantly.
You'll probably get approved. They're not real generous on SL's.
Case in point my HD card is $500 and my Lowes is $12k. CLI is a hard pull with HD. Not so with Lowes (Synchrony)
Applied in store at Home depot April, 2017, for the $75 off if approved. Instant approval of $8K. November, 2018, applied in store when cashier said you can have multiple store cards. Another $75 savings was looking good. Instant approval of $8K. I like the 0% financing. Came in handy when I purchased my new fridge. I do have a Citi CC applied online July, 2015, instant approval for $8.4K. A couple of SP's CLI increases since. Also, a Goodyear store card that was also an in store instant approval for $3K from May, 2018. I dropped the Citi AA when the first annual fee hit.

Received the keys to the new house last night and about 3 hours later I went ahead and applied for Home Depot consumer credit card.
Instant approval, $500 limit... thinking I should have waited for the loan to post.
HD's disclosure said they pulled Experian with a score of 703 (out of 900 ). MyFico shows a Fico8 score of 697.
Sounds ditto of what happened to me. Closed on house Nov 6th, app'd for HD and got $500. Less than a month later i app'd for BestBuy and Citi gave me a Visa Sig @ 3k. My profile was virtually the same except for a couple more INQ's. My mortgage loan hadn't posted yet either, it just did this month after 2 payments. Underwriting criteria is definitely tight on the HD it appears. To note i did not show as being prequalified when i tried their tool online for the HD card.
