Don't think the BB card within 8 days would impact the simplicity card although could be wrong.. Reason being Best buy is their retail division and Simplicity is their legacy (core) card business and they really don't talk to each other persay.. Meaning cards like best buy, sears etc being retail are alot easier to get then their legacy cards being Simplicity, DC, etc.. Not saying your profile doesn't support it as not sure of your profile, but diff underwriting standards and I believe the 8 day rule doesn't apply between retail and their legacy side.. Now if you apply for say DC and get approved and one day and try before 8 days for say simplicity you would be denied automatically. Others can chime in, but don't believe this is the reason. Can always call and find out the reason or wait for letter
nice
Can I ask why you went for Simplicity vs Diamond... Did you have an offer for the simplicity? ..... The gotcha with the Simplicity is you cant PC that card ... it will always be a Simplicity... Diamond can be PC'ed into a DC.......and usually you can get the same offer as the simplicity for a 0%....

Well, apparently it does count.
Just got a letter from Citi. says ' your application's score was too low for approval because:
- Your credit report shows that 1 or more bankcards and/or revolving accounts were opened too recently.
As the ONLY reason.
Anyways, whatever, I dont need this card anymore as I have remaining 0 APR on my cards longer than I originally thought.

They don't state a citi card on that comment just a bankcard or more. Depending on your score and the rest of your profile to recent can mean 3 months or mean 6 months to a year. Betting your CR shows another card opened within the last several months? This doesn't indicate at least to me in my opinion it is counted in the 8 day rule between citi legacy cards. If you think that is the case you certainly can apply again and see if you get approved since it is beyond 8 days, but guessing you would get the same message. Give it 6 months and try again if you still would like the card. Just my 2 cents. Thansk for following up though with their reasoning.

Hmm honestly was shocked by this one.
And then I googled their **bleep** restrictions. Can apply for one personal every 8 days lol so I got approved for the Best Buy, and that explains that!
I'll probably reapply later this year.
If your signature is correct, those three dergos on report could be a serious hinderance based on what ive read.....
All that said, Id call and have it reconsidered, can't hurt!
