I applied for the GS Apple card through my iPhone wallet yesterday. It asked me to take a picture of my driver license. I had a birthday recently and my license expired, but the DMV has been closed a bunch due to Covid-19, so the state has extended the expiration dates until June. Of course, the actual ID doesn't say that, and shows expired.
Today the application updated to denied due to inability to verify my identity. The email said to make sure that my license wasn't expired.
Is there a number that I can call to verify my indentity in another way? I can't renew my license online and I didn't want to go to the actual DMV until I get my vaccine. But surely if I talk to a human being, we can figure something out to prove who I am?
I found the number for Apple card support on Apple's website:
877-255-5923
I called and explained my situation. I also had put in a fraud alert a few days ago because my work called and told me that someone had filed for unemployment pretending to be me. So it could be the fraud alert that got me denied too. She noted the fraud alert on the account, and told me to re-apply again and that the notes would show for the person doing the review.
Luckily it's a soft pull to apply, so it's not hurting anything to apply again.
We'll see if the manual review process works.
Good luck!
Hope it works out for you!
Good luck!
It worked on the second try after calling support. I guess the note in the account was all it took to approve!
Good luck
