Diners Club - marital status?

My wife is solidly in the 800 club across the 3 CBs.

I'm in the mid 700 range.

She has had the same 5 cards for years. Her AAoA is approximately 10 years.

I don't want to sand bag her scores so I'm thinking of checking 'unmarried' on the app.

The app wants my to app jointly because I live in CA - I've never come across this situation before.

Will it raise a red flag for denial if I check unmarried?

From what I've read, they won't pull spouse's credit.  Not sure about being red flagged on fibbing on marital status though.

I would not select any wrong status on a cc app but that is just me..... Good luck with your app !

Re: Diners Club - marital status?

I applied in Texas but called first because Dh and I always apply separately. I was told the spouse information was informational only but required by law. I don't believe the 2nd part but I applied and Dh did not have an hp and his info was not part of the actual application process.

Re: Diners Club - marital status?

Lol!!! Sorry, but this is kinda funny! I can't see anything good happening here with a little fib on the app. You may sneak by with it now, but what happens if later on they decided they want to FR you and request W2's and find out you're married?? I'm just saying that this could come back later ( maybe next month or 5 yrs from now) and bite you. Good luck, hope it goes well
