So I've had my Discover card for 13 months this month. It started out as a secured card and graduated at the 7 month mark to $1,800 CL. I have two qesutions. At what point can I request a CLI? Is it a hard pull or a soft pull for the CLI?
Current scores are
EX= 792
TU=752
EQ=757
I have the Discover card, NFCU Cash rewards, Amex Blue cash rewards, PNC cash rewards
Current overall utilization is at 4%

Congrats on your Disco Graduation. It is a "SP" to request a CLI..
Because of my credit seeking ways, my 2nd Disco card has not seen a CLI in over (2) years
Edited for mis reading the post.

Same here... my disco graduated over a year ago and despite my credit score being over 670, still got shot down. For "too meant bank cards".
Prior to that, they still wouldn't give me anything regardless of of profile.
I have since learned that formerly secured cards are bucketed so will have limited growth potential much like Cap 1. My only hope is to ice my reports for a couple years and hope disco will see fit to bestow another credit card on me.
Good luck!

@eyarman128 Sorry for the back2back posts...
As for when, I believe the new Covid policy of having to wait a year after graduation is still in effect.
Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
@eyarman128 Disco performed a SP on my TU file . . . my first request for a CLI was 6 months after my secured card graduated. Wishing you success on your desired CLI.
You should be able to request through the app and most likely it will be a SP. Disco has been great to me personally. Usually Disco will warn you if it will be a HP.
Good luck!
I just received my Disco CC today approved for 10K. So CLI request is every 6 months?
TIA

Discover uses SP for CLI (double check the language to be safe), you can ask for CLI from Discover at any time, but Discover tends to approve you right after a statement cut with activity.
My CLIs with Disco have always been SP. Week before last, I hit the request credit limit increase on the mobile app for my Chrome card and they immediately raised it from 7k to 10k. I then did the same on my Discover It and it was raised immediately from $16,000 (or $16,500) to $18,500. These were soft pulls as usual.
Good luck and let us know.
That's good to know thanks!!
