I got the same reason last month, my balance on the card is never more than a few hundred dollars so just a fraction of the 9K limit. I probably won't bother trying to hit the button again as the the 9K limit is perfectly find for my needs.

I suspect this is the wrong place for this...but yes they were absolutely horrid. An Italian team won though

Birds of a feather my friend!
@TSlop wrote:I was just denied as well. I opened the card last August, and got a CLI in February on my first CLI attempt. I was going to try again in 3 months (May), but decided to wait until 6 months (August) to try again after Covid began. When I did try last month, I couldn't even put in the request; it just would say a "CLI is not available at this time" after clicking the button.
So I figured they are making me wait a year from opening the card to get a CLI, so I tried this week on September 1st. That appeared to work, and clicking the button finally let me put my information in. After submitting it, I was denied, though. I'm still waiting for the letter but I'm sure it will say insufficient experience or not enough use. I'll try again next month!
My letter came yesterday and it cited low usage of available credit. I'll continue to app for CLIs monthly and see what happens. I know Discover is known to be random, but if they legitimately tightened up, I'll probably never be approved for another CLI. June spend was $195, August was $110, and so far I have $35 on it (and that was an accidental charge by my wife, but at least it coded as 5%).
That reason usually goes away after your very first day of your 13th month with them
@Anonymous wrote:i applied for a cli with my discover it card last week. got denied.
received the mailer yesterday explaining the reason.
"Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to approve your request for a credit limit increase due to the following:
INSUFFICIENT EXPERIENCE WITH CURRENT DISCOVER CARD CREDIT LIMIT"
also included was the transunion fico score as of august 11. 737
opened the card back in december 2019.
kept utilization at 10% or under every month when posted and always paid in full.
trying to see how much more experience i need to get that increase
seeing so many different scenarios and theories with discover
This is Discover's favorite reason to deny a CLI. What experience they want is entirelly up to them and it seems Bi-Polar at times. If you get a CLI you might get one the next month and then again you might not get one again for a year.

LOL good stuff
@Anonymous BTW OP, that is the same excuse I have been getting as well for CLIs for Discover, that is why I stopped asking.
