They're in a big mess over there.  I should know, because I'm in the middle of it.  From an unintended HP to lack of response after multiple tries, I think they are a little player that tried to punch above their weight and are paying the price (or we are).  If I were you, I'd put them on the shelf for 6 months, then try if you want.

For what it's worth, I filled out their form to open up a savings acount almost a month ago - so I'd at least get my membership established so that I could open a card with them in the future. I even put in my ACH info to do a funds transfer. I was told I'd hear from them within a few days, but I've since heard nothing. I probably would have forgot about it had I not seen your post.

I totally agree that now is not a good time to start business with them. Maybe I'll revisit them in 6 months or a year, unless I actually hear from them first.

Were you already a member when you did this or can you get the approval and then join?

I was already a member, but you can apply even before becoming a member.

Re: Dover FCU tried to blow my socks off

I think it's just they were overwhelmed by apps. Let's face it, many people read these forums and never respond or post. They just research info and apply. When I saw this thread take off I had tried a pre approval. It had a glitch and never indicated an approval or not. It said call in. I never bothered and moved on. They did reach out and email me asking me if I was still interested and to come back and apply about 2 months later

It was nice of them to reach out, but 2 recent approvals and not going to add another.

Are you sure? They do seem pretty generous with SLs, and the 12 month 0% BT offer isn't bad. Customer service has been very pleasant, even if a bit slow (due to influx of apps, I'm sure, as you said).

I'm sure. Usb and amex in last 2 months. No more new accounts for a while. Sp garden with a lock and chains on the gate. Only need 10k to get over 200k. It will have to be broke by sp in say 6 months.
