HUGE Flow of Citi Mailings

Hi all!

I've been lurking for a while, figured I might as well join. I've been obsessing over my credit score lately and paying down everything aggressively - my Transunion score has gone from 603 to 653 in a 4 month span. No late payments ever, just high balances.

Back to the title though: I have been recieving "pre-qualified" offers in the mail from Citi 5x per week on a slow week. Today I got two for different cards - one was Double Cash, the other was Diamond Preferred. Has this happened to anyone before? All of the shiny mailers are nice to open when the mail comes in, so I don't mind it, but it seems nuts.

Holding off on them though, hoping to be at 675+ by mid-year aka post quarantine.

Sounds like a good plan to wait a little more. Always fun getting cool mailers from a great company. They must like something you're doing.

Re: HUGE Flow of Citi Mailings

Well wait until you get approved they will send you countless mailings of offers of flex loans and flex pay among other offers. It's crazy between me and the DW we get loads every week. Just an FYI they pulled EX and EQ for me in Florida. So check your demographic to see who they pull in your area. And where you getting your fico scores from here or fako? Good luck with your journey.

Re: HUGE Flow of Citi Mailings

From Credit Karma (fako?): 663 TU, 636 EQ

Discover FICO score card (more reliable I've read on here?): TU 654

Experian (from Experian.com): 645

So all over the place in the mid 650ish range. Constanty changing because I'm paying everything off like crazy ($750+/month) so it's been jumping significantly each time a creditor reports. The only bad thing on my report aside from high balances (68% of 16k, yikes) is a $125 Sprint collection that I paid in full in 2015. Oldest card is 13 years old, Saks store card, never a late payment! I did burn a few CC cos in 2007-2008 though.
