Has anyone ever been declined for a secured credit card?

I was denied by Capital One when I applied for this card: https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/secured-mastercard/

I'm not sure why. Smiley FrustratedI thought applying for secured credit card wouldn't result in a hard pull. Some don't even check credit history.

For your reference, my score is around mid-600, no late payment or derogatory mark.

That's strange. I was approved for Discover IT with my scores in the low 500s.

I was approved for a non-secured Capital One card at score 623.

I was approved for a Credit One non secured card at score 606

Call the recon# or write a letter. Same happened to me. I wrote a letter. One day about 3 weeks after I wrote the letter to reconsider, my phone alerted me that a hard pull was done by Capital One. I immediately called Capital One and asked why and they said they got my recon letter and approved me.

Looking at your info that you posted, I don't see a reason as to why they would deny you.

If you haven't burned them recently, or had a bunch of recent negative activity, it might be your employment and income.
