How Long In Between Lowes Applications?

I recently applies for Lowes and was declined as I previously posted. This was a few months back. So, I decided to take the plunge again as I really, really want this card and it was again denied. I received the exact same denial letter with the same exact score? I didn't think much about it until I was looking through my INQ'S and they did not even pull a new report for the last time. I called and spoke with three different reps, including Credit Solutions. One advised to apply everyday (Credit Solutions) the second every thirty days and the third, every 90 days. I tried to explain the situation to them but they did not understand and suggested I contact the bureau that the problem isn't in there system. Huh? So, how long should I wait and how can I ensure a new report us pulled next time?

Re: How Long In Between Lowes Applications?

I thought it was 30 days too but it was way more than 30 in between apps. They also pulled EX for a second time, same report. I wish someone there could understand the situation and pull a TU or EQ so I know it would be different. So annoying.

I was wondering the same thing. I was denied in September. I guess my plan of waiting to reapply in 6 months isn't a bad idea after reading your experience. Smiley Indifferent

Lowes, like every single other Synchrony card I have, pulled TU for me.

I've heard of Synchrony starting to pull outside of TU recently so you must be one of the unlucky ones.

I'm also surprised with 3 other Synch cards, they denied you as they seem very good at approving current clients for other products.

Yeah, it is very weird. What's sad is that none of their reps, including Credit Solutions, is on the same page. I know I have plenty of cards to garden but this has been a card that I have wanted forever and will definitely get good use. I love Lowes but now I am not confident in their CSR's.

Re: How Long In Between Lowes Applications?

This happened to me with Walmart also owned by Synchrony. Applied in September and was denied. My score went up a lot in October and I applied for Amazon and instantly approved. Called Walmart to ask if I could apply again since it hasn't been 30 days and they told me YES! Applied and was given the 7-10 days message called right up and the rep just said I was denied.

The next day I check my reports and there is no HP from Synchrony at all for Walmart. (I also haven't received any denial letters from Walmart when I applied in September or October) They didn't pull my credit again (which would be the same in your case if you are getting the same score and you score is now different) I called back and explained. The women then told me I had to wait 30 days in between apps and to try again in 3-4 days (when it would of been 30 days from my very first app in September) she also told me if it gives me the same 7-10 day message and I don't get a HP to call right back as soon as I submit the app and then they will be able to override it.

Waited a couple extra days to be on the safe side from what the rep told me. Applied again, got the 7-10 day message and immediately called back. when I called at first the rep was confused and kept telling me that everytime I apply Walmart pulls my credit and I kept telling her that she is wrong and what the other rep told me. I told her that it's a problem with you guys and how the other rep told me to call if it happens again and you guys can fix it.

She verified my Info, put me on hold and came back to tell me she had to push my app and congrats I was approved.
Your story sounds very similar to mine. Every rep you talk to tells you something different. The first time I was told I was denied, the second time I actually got a good rep to tell me what was going on. And the very very first time I called I was told I didn't have to wait 30 days and I could apply again whenever I wanted but then told the 2nd time I was suppose to wait 30 days. She also guaranteed me that after the 30 days the computer system would pull my report again but the computer system didn't so I don't even think they know how long you have to wait between apps. Check your reports if you can and see if there is another hard pull from Synchrony/lowes. If there isn't at all call them asap and tell them the system isn't pulling your report and you need them to push the app through for you. With synchrony you have to tell them what to do and act like you know for anyone to do anything because the reps just don't know.

Good Luck and if you need any help let me know. If you don't see a 2nd hard pull like I said call them back asap because the one rep made it seem they can only override the system or push it through if you call them right away after submitting a app.

Since my approval my score has gone up almost 50 points and I tried to get a increase for the holidays and was denied. When I received my denial letter it had the same score of when I was approved and the score was dated in October Smiley Sad. Good Luck again OP

Re: How Long In Between Lowes Applications?

Thank you for the information! That is definitely whats going on here. The reason I called today was because I noticed no HP was done the last time I apped but it got me nowhere. Lol. Of course this was weeks ago that I apped... I just hadn't paid attention until I was going through past INQ'S today. I will wait to app again until after my new credit limit increases are reported to look better. I asked them how to keep it from happening again and they acted like I was crazy. One rep started going into how it has to pull your credit each time and use your score for approval or denial. We all know that's not true. I just could not make them understand that THEIR system is causing this not the bureau. Hopefully, next time I app, it will pull a new report. She also advised that there is no way they could pull a report via telephone if I called back because the only way to do this was to call for an estimate for something in my home and then when the tech comes out, he can call and try before renovating. This was the most absurd thing I have ever heard. The calls were a total joke.
