Just received Amex Plat RSVP...question though...

A month ago I applied and got an Amex Everyday Preferred...

Just applied & was approved for Amex PRG...40k +25k rewards bonus...

When the PRG arrived today I also got a 75k RSVP offer for the Platinum...

I had a Platinum card back in 2006-2009 & it was closed because I lost my job & had credit issues...not with Amex but other lenders. Amex was closed in good standing & PIF.

I've read Amex won't give sign up bonus stuff if you've had a card already. I've read through this offer, both my PRG & Everyday Preferred are backdated to 2000 (when I first got a card), & I don't see any mention of being excluided from this 75k offer. I was going to wait until the end of the year to get this card but wondering if I should just apply now?

Thoughts and/or suggestions? Offer expires on 10/17/16. Fico 753-775 depending on the bureau, 8/24, no baddies, no missed, AAoA = 9.5 years

Thanks!

I have the BCP and PRG about a year now, received a Platinum offer for 50K MR $5K spend for 3 months. I would say take that offer, it's better than mine. I asked the CS after I recieved my Platinum to change my 50K to 100K based from the other members here receiving the 100K MR. I took mine coz I didnt want to wait for the 75 or the 100K MR offer and I really ike the Platinum, and also it may take awhile for another offer to come and my credt profile may change and may not receive another one from AMex. I spent already about $2K+ in just almost 2 weeks Smiley Happy. Congrats by the way Smiley Happy

Re: Just received Amex Plat RSVP...question though...

The points bonus is attractive. Will Amex issue 3 cards to 1 person in such a short time window?

Your bonus offer is really attractive. I got my BCP and PRG in 1 day. I am not sure if you can do 3 cards in 1 day though. I have not tried apping 3 cards with Amex in a short time window. I know someone will chime in and give us more information about this.

If you received a bonus for the Platinum card before when you had it back in 2006-2009 then it's likely you will not receive the bonus again.  Amex has a once in a lifetime rule for bonuses for each specific card and while isolated incidents have happened where people have received a bonus a second time more often than not you'll get approved for the card but not receive any bonus.  You can receive a bonus for each version of the Platinum card such as the Mercedes Benz and Charkes Schwab versions but only one per lifetime for the regular Platinum card.

I'll update when I apply. I need to hit my sign up offer numbers on my EDP & PRG first...
