Key Bank pre approval fake

Just a heads up that these pre approval letters for the key bank cash back card are fake because I just got denied. I already have the key bank latitude card so I thought it was a definite win for me. Wrong

sorry to hear about your denial 😕 but just because you were preapproved and denied doesn't mean their pre approvals are fake. the actual application is the determining factor and a preapproval is never a 100% guarantee of an approval.

When I get a pre-approval from a company I've never done business with, they don't know my income or any of those juicy details.  But when I apply, if I put down "mafia boss" as my occupation and a taxable income of $0, I'd expect to get denied.  Regardless of the 800+ score that earned me the preapproval.

In your case since you already had another card with them they should have known your income, but the left hand doesn't always know what the right is doing.  And perhaps your details have changed since that first app.

Can't win if you don't play.. Also same goes for credit nothing is guranteed whether a pre-approval or not as the lending market is ever evolving along with a persons profile.

Anyone in the credit game long enough HAS been turned down.  I have 30+ cards and have my share of rejections with high scores and very good income and low utilizaton, etc...
