Kohls charge prequalify and then wait 30 days?

Was browsing kohls.com and saw a pre-qualify button with no impact to credit score.

I prequalified and was invited to apply.

Applied and got a note that more info would be coming in the mail within 30 days. Am I approved or denied?

Neither, sounds like verification.

What are they hoping to verify?

It is already a hard pull now

That it's actually you who applied.

You may receive something in the mail letting you know what they need, you may get a phone call, and sometimes nothing is needed from you.

As @Remedios mentioned above, I would just wait for the letter to confirm what information, if any, they require. Or, any next steps required with the processing of the application.
