Lot's of Travel Coming Up...AMEX Platinum is Tempting Me...

Good afternoon!

I will be transitioning to a new job in July and relocating. Lot's of travel between there and after I get settled in. I am looking to utilize a new travel card and the AMEX Platinum is on my radar. I would be a new AMEX member and am pre-qualified for nearly every card they offer, according to the pre-qual site. I got the 100K MR w/5K in 6 months and the 10x grocery and gas spend (love this) to show up for me.  My last application was May 10 of 2020. I bought a new house last year in March (going to rent it out, since we are moving back), so that accounts for the 2 inq's (technically one I guess since I was shopping around).

Credit Scores (All Fico 8): EX: 773   Eq: 775   TU: 772

Current inqs are: EX: 0/12/ & 3/24   Eq: 0/12 & 2/24  TU: 0/12 & 2/24

AAoA: 6.5 Years

Util: Overall is 34% (I am working on this!!! Should under 30 when Capital One decides to report 0 balance. Thought today, maybe tomorrow?)

Income: $98K

100% clean record across!

I don't apply for a whole lot of credit but I would be able to reap the benefits of this card over the next few years, especially if I transfer the MR points to airline/hotel partners. The SUB would be awesome! Don't have to worry about the annual fee for awhile as well.  I guess I am just trying to gauge my approval odds. I have researched the forums here and I think I stand a good chance, especially with the pre-qual popping up. I think I just need a shot of confidence to hit apply!

Thank you for reading! Have a great day!

Their prequal is pretty solid, so if you're pre-approved, I wouldn't be too worried.  Also to note, the AF will be billed after your first statement is cut.

Thank you for the response! That is a nice confidence boost!

The annual fee will be waived for me for the next couple of years. Gotta love the SCRA!

The Gold and the Plat have the same UW.  I was approved for the Gold with much much less.
