Good afternoon,
MyFico family I have some questions. I opened my cash rewards credit card on November 26, 2019. I was given a $1000.00 SL. Yesterday, I applied for the Go Rewards and boom I was given a $9,200.00 SL. I emessaged NFCU on last night after my approval for more asking for the max or could they negotiate. Please see emessage below. What should I do next? Should I try an ask for a credit limit increase on my cash rewards today or should I continue to try for more on the Go Rewards by doing the emessage? Thank you all for your help.
Thank you for your message, Mr. XXXXX. We have conducted a second review of your cashRewards Visa credit card application. However, after careful consideration, we have determined that we must stand behind our original decision. When determining if an applicant qualifies for credit, various criteria are reviewed to ensure creditworthiness. This criteria includes: monthly income, details reported by credit bureaus, as well as your Navy Federal account characteristics such as account standing and other various factors. Based on our lending criteria, you are at the maximum credit line you currently qualify for. Navy Federal requires three months (91 days) of on-time payments on a new credit card account before approving any additional credit line. Should you have any questions, please let us know.
@Anonymous I've merged your question with an existing thread, as your question comes up all the time.
Redundancy and all.
If you're new(ish) to NFCU, I suggest reading through at least some parts of this thread.
If it can be asked, it was probably already answered right here.
Asking questions is always fine, but when in a hurry, search feature works well, too.
It exists for sure my peeps!
If you don't mind helping me find my question. I would truly appreciate you.

It would appear that's all they are willing to do at this time. Out of curiosity, what's wrong with a 9.2k limit? There's a lot of people here that would be stoked about it! Give it the required 91 days and 3 statements and ask for a cli then.
OP
There's really nothing to do but wait the 91 days and ask for a CLI then or apply for a third card. During that time, show NFCU that you deserve one or the other.
