Opting Back In

I used optoutprescreen.com to optout about 3 months ago.  I decided to opt back in to help track improvements in my profile as offers roll in.

That being said, i've "opted in" using the form at least three times over the last couple of months.  No offers as of yet.  Additionally my most recent Equifax correspondence had a side note that I'm opted out of offers.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the opt-in to stick after opting out previously?

Side note: It's ridiculous that there isn't a place to check your actual status.  That MUST be intentional Smiley Wink

EDIT: Could it be tied to the fact that there is a fraud alert on my account?  Experian through it on my account inadvertantly when I requested correction/removal of a few old addresses.

Takes about 6 months to start getting offers again.

Re: Opting Back In

Does that go for soft pull pre qualifies via the web as well? Such as on Amex, Cap 1, etc? I just opted back in as well, had opted out during mortgage process just to be safe, now wish I hadn't LOL!
Don’t take your credit for granted, use it with care! These days, catch me in the bankruptcy forum!?

Re: Opting Back In

@cartwrna... that's been my experience of late. No pre approve sites are displaying offers. I haven't seen any recent SPs on my CRA supplied reports either.

Re: Opting Back In

How will I ever go on an apping spree if I don't have any solid leads once my mortgage closes Smiley Sad lol

Yes, applies the same.

Haha. Your listed scores are killing it. I don't think you'll have a problem being selective in what you want.

Re: Opting Back In

Mine only took 2 days, just used the capital one pre qualify to check and got pre selected offers of Quicksilver Visa signature, and the Venture. Super excited...now too wait for my mortgage to close......

Re: Opting Back In

No offers for AMEX though, I had a bunch when I opted out. Would like to add an AMEX to my collection.

Re: Opting Back In

I haven't looked at pre-qual's in a while... but from what I remember, Cap1 and CreditOne generate a SP each time (day?) you check the pre-qual site.  Amex and Citi go off cached SPs.  You will not get a pre-qual from either until they SP you on their own.
