Hi --
Just sharing out, interested in input. My recently opened Overstock Store Card has a credit limit of 250$ -- which makes it really hard for me to use the card, with such a low amount.
I've used the card once; bought something small that I needed; and then paid it off (before it reported, as I'm trying the AZEO method).
Today, I called in using the Robolady, to see if I could get a small CLI. She asked if I wanted to pull my credit report and I responded "no". She asked if I wanted my CLI reviewed without pulling my credit report, which I said "yes". I provided my annual income. She then asked if I had a specific CLI amount in mind -- to which I replied "no".
The response came back with a denial -- which is fine at this stage, I suppose. A response letter is coming in 7 to 10 days.
Question: Did I screw up making a Robolady request without declaring a specific amount CLI?
I like having the card but, I must say, having such a low limit makes it very difficult to shop for the things I need without pushing the credit limit line. Any advice on CLI on this? Should I just try again next month?
I also have a Wayfair card that I was considering trying for a Robolady CLI on; same situation as above -- bought an item, paid for it, reports as zero. The limit on it is not as low, so I'll have less of a challenge using it and bumping up against my limit. But I'd like to be able to use these cards as I planned to and their limits are a little tough. But now I'm a little nervous making that request today, as I intended to, with the Overstock decline.
My thinking: I could just make the Wayfair request, see what happens, then continue to make the Robolady requests once a month on both. Or just leave the cards alone and wait for them to grow on their own. Alternatively, I suppose I could close Overstock (I'd keep Wayfair).
Thoughts?
Thanks!
When exactly were the cards activated? What are your Fico 08 scores?
Overstock was activated September 25; Wayfair was activated Oct 3.
My Fico 8's are:
660 EXP
710 TU
700 EQ

I think I got my first increase after 30 days, but DH's overstock was 60 days. YMMV but they will grow nicely with time

Okay. Then some patience is all that's needed. Sometimes CLI are given right away, sometimes they are not. My personal experience with those two cards: Issued on 5/25/18 (SL 500 OS & 1K WF); 2X CLI on 7/14/18 (CL now 3500 OS & 4000 WF); 2X CLI on 9/21/18 (CL now 6500 OS & 7000 WF). I've made two $50 'ish purchases on each. My scores were lower than yours initially. similar to yours on 1st 2X CLI & higher for 2nd 2X CLI.
Be patient and watch those cards grow.

Do you think it makes a difference, making a specific request of the amount? I didn't make a request for a specific amount and I wonder if anyone thinks that plays into the decision making of the system -- i.e., I didn't ask for a specific amount, and general requests for more credit not rooted in a specific need for having a certain CL available can sometimes be indicative to banks of risk?
I also notice that you write 2x CLI a few times on each card. Does that mean you made a request twice for each card on each date? Did it automatically jump? Did you hit the button twice, call the automated system...? I'm curious.
I'm tempted to try Wayfair tonight and see what happens on that automated system, so I can keep track of when I submitted my CLI's in an orderly fashion. I am interested in having these cards CL's bumped so I can use them better; it's hard to use them when they are so low, without risking going over 10% utilization, which is what I try to keep all my cards under while using. Since my request is for a CLI WITHOUT an HP, there's no harm in trying Wayfair tonight, I think...?
After trying Wayfair, I'll probably wait 4 to 6 weeks -- try again on both then.
I'll hang back and wait for the collective wisdom here.
Thanks!
I did mine online. There is not a spot to ask for a certain amount. Request credit line increase and see what happens: in my case, plus 1500. So -- as I had read on this forum to do -- I then logged out, cleared cache on my laptop, logged back in, repeated the process. Plus another 1500. Logged out again, cleared cache again, logged back in, tried for the unicorn 3rd CLI & got snuffed. Same thing with Overstock.

Ah, well -- a twist in the plot!
As I said I would, to keep my CLI requests in line in terms of dates requested (just to keep them orderly), I called the automated line for Wayfair (a.k.a. Robolady). I made a CLI inquiry WITHOUT an HP on my credit. I stated my income; I made a request of 1000.00$, which is 2x what I presently have for my SL (which was originally 500.00$). I figured that was a fair amount to request, expecting to be denied anyway.
* Note, again, for anyone looking this over who didn't read earlier: I didn't make a specific amount CLI request of Overstock -- and I was denied for earlier.
Wayfair approved -- and then some. Comenity-Wayfair raised my credit line to 1300.00$. I'm pleased; now I can use Wayfair's card more easily, allowing for bigger purchase items that include free shipping. Overstock remains a little harder to work with for my purchase spending -- that SL will remain at 250.00$, I guess.
I realize that Comenity is just handling the cards for individual companies, such as Overstock or Wayfair. And that each company probably has different approval parameters for issuing cards AND CLI's. But is this divergence common for Comenity with companies they provide financing for, in people's experience? They are essentially the same system underneath.
Just a question, of course. I respect the fact that they service different companies as a credit provider -- it's just interesting to me. I'm curious about people's take on it.
Follow-up: Having been approved at Wayfair, does one go back to the bucket -- say, online with their CLI button? My instinct says no, considering they approved me for more than I requested anyway. But if I'm careful NOT to do a request that pulls an HP, is there any harm?Other than, perhaps, poking Comenity for a CLI in a way that they may not care for (I've read that they can be fickle.)
And should I just leave Overstock for now -- not attempt a CLI online, having been turned down earlier by their Robolady by phone? Or, without pulling an HP, is there any harm in trying them online as well? Is it pointless to bother to try online, having been turned down already by phone? Same caveat about poking Comenity the wrong way as well, of course.
Thanks for the collective wisdom, everyone!

My first was at the 60 day mark as well. After that, they were approximately every 6 months. It wasn't until I joined the forums that I learned I could ask more frequently, as well as try for a double dip with some of the Comenity cards. Exactly 30 days from my last CLI with Overstock, I did the online CLI request; approved. Called robolady right after for CLI, approved for an extra $2k on top of the previous CLI. I have never had a HP from Overstock, due to aquiring the card a few years back using the SCT. As always YMMV!
