Thinking of doing a PenFed (cold app) and Comenity SG Visa app (pre-approved) at the same time before heading back to the garden for a year. Have a new GS Apple Card that hasn't shown yet on the CRs. Wondering if that might be a bit too aggressive for PenFed and Comenity which in before times were both "sensitive".
Could easily hold off on the SG Visa but figured its a SP CLI grower while PenFed is a HP for CLIs and have no intention on wasting HPs for increases. All this is moot if the AA hammer comes swinging. Did have Comenity close 2 cards on me last year but that was for inactivity (CLs nothing to write home about).
I am in the same boat but due to a mortgage loan going thru soon, I am holding off on the PenFed app as I have a very good score according to them but don't want the HP.
Instead I have focused on 2 new SP accounts:
Both approved without incurring a HP.
Hoping my mortgage broker doesn't freak...

Instead I have focused on 2 new SP accounts:
- Sportsmans Guide Comenity bank - previously had their defunct Virgin Airlines card
- X1 Card - invitation code
Both approved without incurring a HP.

I wouldn't worry about the mortgage broker freaking.... but what about you? Even though they are SP accounts, won't the 2 new accounts once3 opened effect your score? Why not wait til right after closing & have keys in hand to apply ?... the long term mortgage (rate) and home is far more iportant then the cc accounts.

You are correct, normally I would wait until escrow closes but the X1 Card is unique and I had a limited time opportunity to apply as this is a waitlisted card.
Hoping the $21K credit line from X1 will help my score with utilization down to 3%....
