When I joined @Dmessina666, I only opened a Savings Account and it was a SP for membership. The following week, I app'd for the PCR and was approved...EQ HP F9.  A month later I app'd for the Gold, another EQ HP F9. Then realizing I needed the checking to get 2% back on the PCR, I called and opened a checking with them over the phone. No HP for adding the checking account. 

Agree with others that it's a YMMV with them. I wouldn't recommend applying for two credit cards back to back within 30 days however my profile was strong enough to support the approvals. I think I'm very fortunate.

Very nice @raisemysc0re!  Congrats on your approval.  That's a solid CL and decent interest rate.  I have several products with PenFed as well.  They have been a very solid lender in my experience.  Enjoy your new card when it arrives.

As you might have seen from other posts. I applied after considerable research with PenFed. Opened the account and applied... DECLINED. Reason stated severe derogotory event. (obvioulsy the the BK). Honestly I was really disapointed I saw tons of approvals with similar timeframes of BK's and scores. I did recon. It took over a week to get my request to underwriting. I did get a message lastnight I was DECLINED again...Current TU8 672 EQ8 685 and EX8 689. My EQ9 was 661 on the application.

So after seeing some recent uptick in PenFed Approvals I went ahead and applied for a Savings account last Friday got a request to upload some documents and then an email to call to complete my membership.  Called this morning, they had a difficult time finding my original online application but eventually got me started with a savings account and I added $100 to it. Agent (Older Gentleman) asked me if that was all I said no I think I would like a checking account and a credit card he said ok I can open the checking account up for you but you will need to apply for the card and I can help you or you can do it online. No mention of a credit pull for the checking account nor did he offer that I have to put $500 through that account to avoid maintenance fees. I opted to do the Credit card app online. 

Applied for the PCR Visa and got an instant Denial

- Serious Delinquency, and public record or collection filed (This would be my Ch7 BK 05/2019)

- Length of time revolving accounts have been established (Only one showing on EQ is Cap1 02/20)

I do have two others closed:

Petal $1000 04/19 wasn't in my BK but they closed(09/19) because I filed BK

Credit 1 that I opened (09/20) then closed before using it reports closed (10/20 ) 

- Too Many Accounts with Balances ( I have two student loans that show a balance totaling around 11K $925 10/01, $9707 05/15)

- No Recent Revolving Balances ( Cap1 shows $0 whoops should have kept some on it) 

Current EQ Fico 8 according to NFCU is 639 (They show 628)

3 Hard Inquiries (Cap1 02/20, Discover 02/20, Suntrust Bank 01/19)

I now have two additional HP on my EQ Credit (Pentagon FCU-ALEXAND, Pentagon FCU)

I did send a secure message to see if they would Recon but have not heard anything yet

Instant denial. lack of revolving credit. i have no credit cards on my credit report. trying to recon now. doubt it works but we'll see.
