I probably should have waited to apply but I want to make a $500 purchase and this card offers $100 bonus with 1.5% cash back. I applied for and received the Amex and BoA cards in August (barely 6 months ago) but I only have 1% or 2% utilization overall. You can see my cards and scores below and I'm wondering if having 2 other Capital One credit cards will affect their decision? I also just read that I should have applied on a weekday so I guess I'm a little late reading the forum. The application online message stated that they "try" to provide a 60 second decision and that I may receive either an email or letter by postal mail within the next few days (can't remember exactly how many). I've always received instant approval so this was a little disconcerning. Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on why the decsion was delayed. As always - thanks for your feedback!
Not sure I completely understand. Do you mean that they never provide instant decisions and that all applications must go through a manual review by a rep?
Oh! :-) Thanks! Should I search the forum for a "backdoor" number or does it matter which number to call at this point in the application process?
Cap1 doesn't have a backdoor number. You have to contact the EO by email or you can message them on facebook.
Has anyone else had a different experience with a rep connecting you to an analyst?
Well - I called 800-548-4593, automated teller said they got the app, it was under review and will send info in 10 days. Asked for a rep but office was closed. Guess I need to wait until Monday.
I made another call today and all I got was the same answer by the rep who said the app is pending. I also just read that most all banks will take recon calls EXCEPT for Capital One until they've made a decision one way or the other. Has anyone had any experience with this? Would it still be beneficial at this point to email the EO?
Good luck , I would think that with those scores you would be approved instantly
I wonder if it is your other 2 Cap 1 cards that are causing this...
