How many INQ do you have there?
Was 12 ... now 13
Crap...I guess i'm SOL lol. 24 won't do the trick at all.
Hmmm... very tempting. So, other than the # of inquiries, did you have several new accounts in your CRAs already reporting? Hopefully, they didn't have to HP you 2x! I'm definitely considering it. Granted, the offer may be available next year for eithr 70K/1st year AF waved or the 140K/no AF waiver... decisions, decisions.
Oh yeah ... definitely have new accounts reporting
October: 6
June: 4
Only pulled EX for me ... no double pull thankfully.
The reason I pulled the trigger today is to double dip on the $300 airline credits in 2014 & 2015. If it wasn't for that I would have let my accounts age to allow for a higher CL. I most likely won't keep the card past one year, and I'll move the CL to another of my Chase cards.
So the $300 airline credit will apply to your account after the transaction posts or after statement cuts? If it's after statement cuts, it might not be available till 2015, which will count as 2015's credit instead of taking advantage of $300 in 2014 and $300 in 2015. Anyone know?
Just needs to post on your account.

From what I read on FT, if the charge posts in 2014, it will count in 2014. My understanding i as soon as it posts you can call or SM Chase to get the credit applied.

I never stay at RC's so the $100 isn't wothrwhile to me ... so I just need to decide is 140,000 points worth $95 and the HP and hit to my AAOA
Stay at marriot's? You can get more then 2 days transferring them from what I read.. Think they equal like 5 nights if not mistaken..
Oh yeah, definitely stay at Marriots ... 91 nights this year!
140,000 points is definitely valuable ... I usually stay at catagory 6 or 7's for personal stays ... so that's about 4 nights, averaging about $800 total value
You must have Plat status (with 91 nights), then you should have no problems getting enough points for all sorts of vacation packages! The Ritz is a much better card than the Marriott card for those who use this brand of hotels.
Ok ... I talked myself into it ... app'd, went pending, called recon, approved for $5K. I pushed for $10K and was declined for aggressive credit seeking and balances on multiple cards (both true). So now I just need to get the card expedited once they match up my account number w Marriott, so I can get the $300 airline reimbursement in 2014.
Thanks for confirming sillykitty1. I'm thinking I might give it a whirl in the next couple of days and I'm sure I may be asked similar questions regarding the number of new accounts since Sep - I can definitely afford the HPs though. By the way, congratulations on your RC approval, well done
Previously, someone had said that the travel credit will be ok for gift cards. Will that have to be below certain amount like 3 $100 gift cards or can I do a $300 gift card?
Just a side note, does Amex Platinum's $200 travel credit per calendar year also apply when transaction posts or statement cuts?

Flyertalk has a wiki tht says that Delta & AA gc's are reimbursed, but UA is not. According to FT the gc's don't need to be split up into smaller amounts.
Amex Plat is also on charge posting. The credit comes within a couple of pdays.

It's not officially allowed but there are people on FT who have done it. I've never done it with Ritz so can't give personal experience. All I can say is that when you call in to get credit, all that CSR's ask is what date and amount, never what you used the credit for. But they do see what's listed as vendor and if it says Alaska Gift Certificates (which is how Alaska posted on my Amex - but still got credited in a few days ), then that will take some explaining.

So, theoretically, these GC's could indeed be reimbursed (except for maybe UA and I can't recall the other carriers). Do these have to post within the same time period or can they be spread out?

Are you saying that Amex Plat is more lenient to credit gift cards for airline credits or you were just lucky? So for both Amex Plat and Ritz Carlton, you dont have to split gift card amount?
I wish they offered this as a business card. I have no use for another personal card, unfortunately. Thanks for sharing this though!

I think I got lucky. I had split it up into four transactions because I had read on FT (my go-to source for travel related info) that most had success if split up. This was the first time I ordered GC's as an experiment for myself and thought it wouldn't get reimbursed cause of how it posted but it was credited in a few days.
With Ritz, as long as it looks like it could be an amount for airline charges (baggage, seat upgrade, etc.) i'm sure there would be no problems. I'll have to look on FT for data points on GC purchase reimbursements. However, I never seem to have a problem for using credits with my cards for award ticket booking fees, etc. so I don't need to buy gift cards to use all the credit.
