Re: Should I reply?

I can use the card well as I travel quite often, but I don't think it's a good idea right now.

What about the Chase message? Anyone have a suggestion for that?

Re: Should I reply?

A lot of people on this board have a ton of accounts, and that works for them, but there is certainly no rush for you to open any more accounts. You do not sound super comfortable with it. I'd just let what you have age and go from there.

Having 3-4 positive accounts is an excellent start and your score will be good. You can add more accounts later, if you want. You don't need to.

I wouldn't unless you actually need the credit. It will be a HP on your credit report and I am not sure how likely youi are to get a decent CLI with such a new account. The visa signature isn't worth the pain, but if you actually need the credit that would be a different story.

Re: Should I reply?

I would suggest that you reply that you are actively monitoring your credit, and you see they already review your credit report regularly, you do not wish a Hard Pull of your credit report, and why can't they make a decision with what they already have?  Worth a try, right??

Re: Should I reply?

I agree that Visa Signature is really nothing to get terribly excited over, or go out of your way to obtain. Just my opinion.

Re: Should I reply?

To clarify, I'm not encouraging you to apply NOW for the CSP. You apply when you feel ready. What I was essentially suggesting is that you don't go for another card with Chase before attempting to apply for the CSP. Applying for another card that's not the CSP may alter their decision on yet another card(CSP). I suggest you age your accounts for a bit then consider applying.

Oh and btw, thin file doesn't really determine your eligibility for the CSP. I had only 3 CCs, over 10 INQ, and less than a year of credit history when I was approved for the CSP. It started at $5k and 6 months later it's at $13k. Good luck!

Re: Should I reply?

lol thanks guys. All of you are great.

I only really wanted to signature fore the trip cancellation/interruption insurance. I'm a cop and sometimes events come up that call me into work so my trip plans get ruined. It already happened once and I had to reschedule my flight which cost $600+ (ouch).

That's the only reason the siggy looked appealing to me.

Re: Should I reply?

If you only want the higher CL to get the Visa Signature you need to know that you have time as Chase requires 13 months before upgrading the card.
