Stated income for applications?

Since my BR DC I've always put MY current income on the apps. I have read a few threads here where people apply with their household income. Is this a good thing to do? Would I have to possibly verify what my GF makes if I include her salary with mine?

Re: Stated income for applications?

Hey Nixon. We haven't combined finances yet because we aren't married, however we're heading in that direction. I was wondering in the meantime if that 'tactic' is ok in hopes to help with approvals or CLI's. I definitely don't want to do anything that could hurt me, so that's why I'm asking.

Check common law marriage in your state, also check community property.

Re: Stated income for applications?

MANY of the banks these days ask for "ALL INCOME SOURCES THAT YOU CAN RESONABLE ACCESS TO PAY BACK DEBTS" = include both incomes.

The only time I would not include combined income is with banks like Amex or credit unions that actually might want to verify.

I also wouldn't seperate out the incomes on the applications, I would just put 1 income total.
