Take Another HP and Apply?

2 HP's on Experian 12/16/14 for Citi Double Cash (app pending) and Chase Freedom (approved).

Should I apply for another card or should I open the gates to the garden to grow a little more?

Experian score at end of November 2014 was 803.

Estimated annual income: $7400 - I am a part-time college student with 3 part-time jobs.

----------------

Other cards that I was looking into applying for:  If you have any other ideas for CC's to apply for please comment:

  • Amazon.com Rewards
  • American Express Blue Cash Everyday, Everyday, and Hilton HHonors
  • Amtrak Guest Rewards
  • BankAmericard Cash Rewards for Students
  • Barclaycard Arrival World MC and Rewards Platinum MC
  • Capital One Journey, Quicksilver Cash Rewards, and VentureOne
  • Citi Hilton HHonors and ThankYou Preferred
  • Discover it for Students or Discover it Chrome for Students

Nixon's on it.  OP - real FICOs (if known) please.   That FAKO score would likely be WAY OFF.  Also, are the two AU cards the only tradelines in your CRs?  If so, how long have you had them or what is your AAoA?  Any negatives, inquries, etc?  Student Loans?  Loan Amounts?

Re: Take Another HP and Apply?

The two AU cards are the only reporting items to my CR for now. Once I get my Freedom in a few days that should start reporting.

I've been on the Fidelity (12k CL - open since 2009) since May 2014 however it didn't start reporting until December.

I've been on Discover (open since 1986) since November 2014 and it reported right away. Both cards have always been paid on time and in full (except for Discover because right now it's 0% promo APR on account until February - however the card will be paid full.

No negatives.

2 HP INQ - Chase pulled EXP (idk if they pulled Transunion or Equifax). Citi pulled EXP (idk if they pulled Transunion or Equifax)

No student loans. Nothing negative.

Only things on my CR as of right are:AU on Fidelity and Discover and 2 INQ (at least on EXP).

Sorry for any misspelling- on mobile.

1. see how you can get your income to $10k (any other money that comes to you for schoo,, family, etc. a lot of times can be used ont he applications)

2. Apply for the Amex Card (cash or everday)

3. apply to discover (non student version)

4. either BofA (non student or fidelity)

5. Apply to Capital one if you are pre-qual on website for 1 of the cards.

Do not apply for another citi card.

dont' apply to barclay as i don't think you have enough history but if you want to throw in at end of app spree then fine.

don't apply for more chase cards for at least a couple months

What can I include in my income amount other than my own income?  Am I able to include the $$ that is in my VA CollegeWealth 529 Savings Plan from BB&T?  I am not the account holder though.  I do not think I can however am I able to include my parents income?

Re: Take Another HP and Apply?

Discover It requires at least 10000 in income . So don't apply for it unless your income is more . You can probably get the student It without a problem .

I have bad experience with Discover Student, my wife already have 2 cards at $5000 with less than a year credit history and Discover still at $500. My Discover (non-student) started at 1000, now 2500 after 6 statements.

I agree with Creditaddict, try to get the regular Discover card or wait 6 months after this spree to get it.
