Re: Target Redcard CLI Point of Reference

I don't blame you I was just saying if worse comes to worse and you can't get any CLI you may have to let a balance report. I read another thread the other day where someone has had the card for 2 years without any CLI , they let a balance report and bam CLI once the statement cut.

Yup. I  had it for years and was stuck at a $200 credit limit because I always paid before the statement cut. After reading of others success, I started letting it report each month before paying in full and now I am getting CLI every few months.

Re: Target Redcard CLI Point of Reference

Maybe after the 3 or 6 month mark I'll let it report they definitely aren't giving any CLI's sooner than that.

You won't pay any interest if you pay the previous statement balance before the due date.  We aren't talking about carrying a balance, we are referring to letting the statement cut before paying the balance in full. You can pay most off it off like you are doing now, but let a couple dollars report on the statement each month.  I have paid zero interest since I began letting the balance report monthly before paying it off.

It doesnt matter if the APR is 432% - pay it in full by the due date, and there wont be any finance charges due Smiley Happy

Re: Target Redcard CLI Point of Reference

Well for DH, I'm AU on it, the first CLI was without a balance reporting, didn't get anymore increases after that because we PIF before the statement closes. However I tested the letting a balance report and bam CLI the same day the new statement generated. We PIF'd that one over two payments before the due date, cost me $3 in trailing interest. Quoted as a minimum interest charge. And guess what. They reported that $3 to the CRAs lol. I didn't even realize it until Fico sent DH an alert that said Retail Trades on TU was $3. Checked accounts and sure enough Target cut the new statement for $3. Now the card is at $1200. I'm letting half of a $200 balance report on the 3rd (closing date) to see if another CLI happens, if not, no more balance reporting since they like trailing interest.

I think they get a bit loose if you let them have some interest lol

Re: Target Redcard CLI Point of Reference

On the flip-side I have actually done pretty well with CLIs on my Target card. Started at $300 in 5/2015 and got a CLI to $2600 this month via 5 CLIs.

Check out my thread here.
