From what I understand, it's no longer an instant denial if you ask for more than 3x. They will counter. If you qualify for 3x, that is the max you'll get.

Thought Lexie said earlier in thread only ine cli per 180 day period, they count all products under same account.  Maybe search the thread?  Or better yet, search google, then bring up myfico forums.

That's what I understand too. 1 cli across all accounts. Then 180 wait. But I think they have a maximum exposure based on income as well.

Yes. But I believe 40% is max that amex alone will give. But who knows. I'm trying to figure out why some are getting denied the 3x cli. Others ever with low scores and high utilization is getting.

Dunno, but I yet don't want the 3x myself, I want other cards in my portfolio, and 3x would take me over 10k. If I want to get to 10k, I shall use the slow and easy path, matching to my income.

(ye cards I want all have that 15 month 0% apr, I DO like to take advantage of that). So, they shall be spread out for app purposes.

Still got over a year on disco for 0 apr. But high limit would crush util all the wY down to nothing. Same time paying off high balance. So score would rise fast. Just wondering why people get denied.

I received a 3X CLI on September 16th on the Amex ED. does the 180 day rule apply if I want to app for another Amex Card? My fico scors are 770+ with AAoA around 5 years. ED card B* to 1999.
