Ummm ok??? **bleep**. So I had applied for a CLI yesterday or the day before. And got 7-10 day message. No biggie. But then today I received an email that said "We've finished reviewing your credit limit increase request. To view our decision, please click here. For your security, you will be asked to verify your identity."

All that did was take me to an app status page. It did not tell me their decision or explanation. So i decided to chat.

Very recently. And then I received an email but like I said the link is only for card app status.

When you apply for the credit line increase, you receive a letter within 7 days about the result of the credit line.

It will not show the status once you go through the link.

That was what the email said. So when I followed the link it was only for new card applications.

I have reviewed your account and I see that your recent application has been denied and you will receive the letter with the reason for decline.

I see that you first applied on 5/24/2015 and your need to wait for 90 days at least to apply for another line increase

Oh no! See, I was afraid of that!!! But when I called in they told me their policy had changed this month, and that new accounts could apply and they did not need to wait. Otherwise I would have not requested one.

They must have told you about the credit line request normal. Priorly a new Card member has to wait for 60 days to request credit line increase.

But if it is denied once, then you need to wait for 90 days.

I did not apply for a credit limit increase on 5/24/15! **bleep** are they talking about.. 5/24 was when I applied for the card itself... jesus. I am over it. I will try on 8/24 and  9/19 then I guess.

Just curious: if you request more than 3x's will they counter offer ??? I appd for 3 Amex card's over 2 week's in May. Appd the PRG, instantly approved. The following week I appd Delta PLAT and was instantly approved (1400.CL) and the BCP which went "in process" for 7 day's, than was approved (1K CL). I used my Delta booked $700.0 + airfare, and PIF the day it posted. I've also been using my PRG daily, and paying it off every 5 day's or so. It's been about 3 weeks and I just requested $5500. CL for the Delta PLAT which is about 3.5 CLI request. I got the 7 - 10 day message. Just curious if it'll be declined because I requested more than 3x CLI ??? I really just want to get over 5K and 3x would've been $4200.00
My EX is 790, no derogs, income 125K, - 1% UTI across all CC's. I'm certain my initial low CL's was because I hadn't used credit for about 8 year's and only show 2 secured CC's (WF 2K & US Bank 1k) opened in February of this year. But several new accounts have since been reported w/5K CL's. If it's declined, I have to wait 90 day's ??? Is it possible they'll counter with up to 3x CLI to $4200.00 ??? Thanks !!!

Applied for the 3x CLI when I activated the BCP on Friday and received the 7-10 notice, but in less than 3 hours the 3x was approved.  Very pleased.

There are several reports that they counter. Almost all the time the most they give is 3x, that's why we talk about 3x CLI. I've seen 1 report from someone that got more than 3x but the card was several years without a CLI request. Good luck.

I just got an email from Amex stating they made a decision on my credit limit raise. I started with a 1400. CL on my Delta PLAT and requested 5500. which is obviously more than 3x. They gave exactly 3x CLI, so my Delta PLAT is now 4200.00 CL.
Now I'll have to wait 6 months and hit Amex up again. Unfortunately my new BCP only came with a 1K CL so at this rate, it's going to take about 2 year's or more to get both Amex credit cards up to respectable limits. Maybe I should've waited for my other new cards with higher CL's to report prior to getting the Amex cards. Cap One gave me a 5K QS and 20K Venture, along with Chase giving me 5500. CL on my new Slate. I'm thinking Amex definitely would've started me out higher if I had waited for these to report. Oh well.

I get turned down every time and I use and PIF each time even when I only ask for 50% of my CL.  Oh well, 0% is almost over and so may my relationship be with AMEX.

My second 3xcli is on July 12th.  I will ask for 18k.  Then after 6 months, 25k.  Don't need more than that.
