@Anonymous wrote:Initial credit limit was given for $20000. Did a CLI after 61 days and it got approved for $34900. After 180 days submitted another request for $39900. I was told that a letter will be sent in 7-10 days. Credit score is decent enough (706). CL sitting at 210K. Usage 23%. I don't know what went wrong.
Helloooooo!!!!!!
Nothing went wrong.
You're way ahead of the curve.
Sometimes we just have to be more grateful.
JMO.
Just received a letter from AMEX stating "The amount currently outstanding on your AMEX account(s) is too high relative to the income you provided on your application".
I provided $150K as my income. Is AMEX expecting $200K?
No, AmX is not expecting a $200K income. What they want is for you to pay down the outstanding balance on your AmX card vs using a CLI to lower UT.
Okay. My current utilization is hovering around 25%. If I lower it down to < 10% and if I apply for a CLI, will I be getting a CLI?

Of course if you lower your UT to <8.9%, your chances of approval are much higher. However, it also depends on the UT of your other CCs. Can you provide the UT for those too, if you don't mind.
Just from my experience I would wait until it is the higher one on their site. Even when mine was over 700 on their site they said NO-GO right now because I still had some higher utilization on another card.....but *fingers crossed* they will allow your increase. I have had a no 3 times now....I am new to credit in General but two of those No's were dumb on my part (asking when I didn't check the FICO on their site) and then asking with the Utilization being higher when I was trying to ask the phone representative they went ahead and pulled it before answering my question then said they said no because of the Utilization.....SMH that was the whole reason for me calling in was to ask if they take that into consideration even if it isn't on that specific card..........but oh well.....Hopefully mentioning this will help out others and if they do say no a few times I have read that is common as well but once they do start giving increases I have heard they are very generous so Good Luck!!
Sounds like you have a great shot, I'm not to sure how 'thin' your file is but around 2% Agg. is Great and your Score though I recommend it being over 700 is still over 650 which is good if it does pop up to over 700 I think that will work way more in your favor, but the way I see it you have a great chance. And LOL ty <3 I'm going to shoot my shot early quarter next year since right now my UTL is a bit high and I am like No-Way fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me lolol.
