update to my last post: it was the 7-10 denial with just the reason of "your tenure with American Express has been too short", still waiting for mail to come in but rep confirmed :l
EX8: 738 (25 above approval, 30 above last granted 3x from 4k in Jan)
was AZEO with amex being 0 at time of req
shuckS... HERES TO OCTOBER >.>
So, I got approved for a BCE last week one part because of the $350 total SUB and one part because of my app for another card being denied but anyway I got a $1,000 limit. I feel like I should've held off a little bit because I just got a CLI on my NFCU CR to 3k and my secured Dicover may not be far behind with it qualifying to potentially unsecure next week. Or not and it could've just been Covid economy influence Amex being wary of handing out higher limits to new members, especially with limited history. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've seen topics from others that they've managed to successfully recon their starting limit to something higher or get a CLI before 61 days though I don't remember sure how many of the topics/post I saw were a year or more old or how many either already had a solid amount of history or established relationship with Amex, I need to go through more of this topic but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience recently.

mine was one of the examples - Jan 2020
as soon as i had the amex login i asked for a CLI and got double the amount - online request
Approved for $10k - raised to $20K
I am lined up for a CLI request this Sat - will be just over 181 days
you should ask for $5k
@MrZero Usually a $1K SL is a sign you just barely got in with AMEX...especially considering you had just been denied for another card. You can try but in those instances you won't get a CLI on activation. You should try for 3X at 61 days in. Hopefully you get it then. Once you are in with Amex and you follow good credit usage rules (PIF, pay on time, keep utilization under 9%) you should be ok. My first card I got when I made it back in with Amex was a $1K SL. I got another card with a higher SL and got 3X on the higher SL card at 61 days.
Good luck!

Yeah, I had no real expectations of getting a CLI so soon but I do wish I would've held off until next month for at least one of me three cards to show a limit higher than $1K, potentially two to see if it had any influence.

Can only offer my experience which definitely says it may. My only reported CL at the time I applied for my BCE was BoA which was $9100 and just happens to be the SL I got on the BCE. Since it's a weird number, that's why I'm inclined to believe it had some influence but that's ultimately just speculation.
Ugh. I got a 7-10 day notice
i asked for $45k
so I have to wait 90 more days if it is a denial?
i got the first CLI on Jan 18 - so i was trying for another CLI after 181 days
so this is the first denial
7/4 - Got approved for Amex BCP with a $7.4K SL
7/16 - Asked for 3x SPLI and got approved for $20K
Data Points:
Had Amex Green account for 1 year. Seems like 60 day rule doesnt apply if you have pre-existing relationship in some cases.
