I guess I should shelve my plans for an AR app also then?
US Bank really doesn't like people who actively seek credit but most of us who have gotten denials for too many new accounts have way more accounts than you do. It may be possible to recon. I mean you clearly are going for top tier cards instead of grabbing every card that comes along. It looks more to me like you're making a core set than just adding whatever you can. That's a decent argument for a recon.
Except they no longer allow recon if denial reason is "Too many accounts"
Those few that managed to successfully recon had on average 2 new accounts in a year.
I'm not saying dont try it if it's really a denial (hopefully it's not), but it's just not something I'd hold my breath for.
As far as AR, that one is weird. Sometimes they will bend the "rules" for existing customers, sometimes they dont. Still, even as an exiting customer, more than 2-3 accounts might prove to be a challenge.
I'll be a guinea pig when they finally start taking applications for baby ARs. I'll get a chunky "Shoo shoo", but it's a single pull and they already own my TU
Remedios called it. Denied - too many new accounts. Was hoping they'd lax their requirements due to COVID-19.
DH pointed out that Discover It has a 18mo 0% purchase & BT promo. I'm pre-approved for the card, but no need to give in and app if the categories don't really match my spending, right? I mean, I agree with Saeren on his assessment of my strategy.
Anywho, I just BT'd my NFCU balance to my Cap1 QS. I still have a 0% APR on purchases & BT's until 12/20, but it pains me to pay the 3% transfer fee. Still better than opening a new account, I guess.
Well I sure hate to hear that. I was hoping they'd push you through.
Asked @Remedios to put a word in for you. I bet they'd approve you then. 😉
Win some lose some, they're are one bank of many. Keep your head up, because you're journey has just begun! 😀
You'll get in the US bank door sooner or later.
