Been goin back and forth about joining or not joining another CU outside of Navy. I was considering RBFCU and BECU. I joined RBFCU mainly because of the trans pulling for products. After a day or 2 after being approved for membership, I apped for a cc and was denied only becuz of the amount of new accounts in last 12mths even pulling my fico trans of 720+. I thought I did enough research on it to know if they weren't new account sensitive. I guess I learned the hard way. After reading @JnBmom post about new membership and cc approval with BECU, I'm thinking I chose the wrong one and should I possibly(only if it's TRUE facts)that they are not sensitive to new accounts and/or inquiries. If not I'll wait till next summer......NO BIGGIE. Anyone can verify, deny if these facts are true. Thanks for the advise in advance. God bless!
I can confirm that BECU is not new accounts or inq’s sensitive.
I think your experience could have almost mirrored mine 2 years ago as far as Fico scores go.
I see the limits on accounts and they are all over the board. What is your income? Can any the the banks prove it by you being a customer?
I would recommend picking two banks that meet your needs and run your income through them and wait 6 months and see.
For me, a real banking relationship with deposits and payment routinely has made a huge difference in offerings and starting lines.
The banks I am referring to are Chase and now very recently US BANK is pulling out all the stops for me to move everyday business and personal accounts over. They are offering $100k business line of credit with the US BANK BUSINESS CASH+ VISA with a TU hard pull to verify.
Just an fyi IMO, just as in person to person relationships, you'll get more after dating the banks for a bit before asking for more.
Take care all!
I would continue as such with Chase. I don't know what card you would want from another bank to equal the rewards. Get the Freedom card and maybe upgrade to the CSR for travel in the meantime. The Freedom Unlimited for 3% this year and your CSP are great. What other card for you makes sense other than the Freedom?
$100K running through them is enough. I can tell you the bankers at the branch know my name when I walk in with over 100K going through recently in Wisconsin.

I also would like to think tht your 10 years relationship would go a long way over opening another bank account.
Some have had poor relationships with many lenders but your long term relationship with Chase should make you interesting to them.
Your scores represent some troubles in the past but talk to a person at Chase first. They gave you over 17k CSP limit so that is a good indicator after the fact.

FYI
Chase if offering a $300 bonus to open a business checking account,
TERMS= $1500 in account for 60 days and 5 debit card transactions. I received this bonus last fall.
Both are regional banks, Washington and Texas
