I probably had about as many inquiries as you when I started getting in with Amex but was only getting $1000 credit lines. I'm at about 17 total now and was approved for the Amex Ed for $8000. Few things. I'm thinking the inquiries dropping off and also maybe having more history with them now. I would let some drop off and try to get under 20 to see what happens there. Some here may recommend lower though..

Not sure if this should be moved or not but I was wondering about which of you were approved for a new account with lots of inquiries?? Which bank/card, score and how many inquiries when applied?? I have 28 inquiries on my EQ and it's pretty much frozen from here on out due to 5-8 inquiries from Nfcu and Penfed alone this year. I wouldn't consider apping for anything else due to the inquiries so I am gardening. I wasn't aware that Navy pulled a new report for everything. Lol Oh well....I was approved for Navy Amex Rewards with 18 Inq's TU pull 05/11 and CLI on GoRewards same day EQ 26 inquiries, then denied CLOC CLI 27 Inqs EQ.
What are your Inquiry success stories?
I have a lot more inquiries than you and have been approved for State Farm (twice) - TU, Navy Fed - TU, NYMCU - TU, Banco do Brasil - EX, HSBC (twice) - EQ, Discover - EQ, and the Marvel Visa - TU. Scores have remained steady - EQ: 722, TU: 736, EX: 724.
Some lenders genuinely don't care about inquiries if you have the profile and income to back it up.
I agree with you. I think certain scores get a pass. I am under 700 a cross the board. I need to get above 700 to strengthen my profile. Income is fine ($87k) Utilization around 14%

Inquiries for me are the biggest head scratcher. TU shows me with 15 inquiries over two years. They are legit, as I was building my business brand at that time. However, EX showed only 5 and get this...EQ...0. Yes...no inquiries reported to EQ. These are all reports straight from the individual bureaus that I maintain paid membership monitoring for. I don't know how this helps you, but it is my situation as I know it.
What I'm trying to get everyone to share is: What card were you approved for despite having several inquiries in the past year.

Those are a great deal of victories on your end. Congrats on all. What are your scores? On paper, I have good utilization, good income, and only baddie is a CH7 from 2012. Everything has been perfect since 2012. Denied 5/3rd Bank CC too many inquiries last 6mos 03/2018. Denied US Bank, too many inquiries last 6mos 03/2018.

I probably have at least 25 inquiries on each of all three bureaus in the last 12 months. I haven't had any issue with approvals. 5/3, Commerce, Navy, and others have had no issue handing me out $7 to $15 K limits out of the gate. Commerce $15k, 5/3 $15k,&$6k, Navy $12.9k(3rd card with them), BMO Harris $6k, Synovus $8k, BBT $6.5k, DCU $7.k, Sync/Cathay Pacific Visa $6k.. and so on
