I applied for the My GM Rewards Card because this is one of the cards that allows you to do so with a soft pull, and I heard you'd have the option to review the offer and see the CL before actually accepting.
My scores are below what I see the average score is for approval (according to https://helpmebuildcredit.com/creditcard/my-gm-rewards-card/), so I fully understand why I was rejected.
I figured I'd share the specific reasons I was given in case they are helpful for anyone else. Of course, there is limited risk in applying to find out for yourself. I am not disappointed as I was just approved for a Paypal credit card with a $6,500 limit that energizes me.

These are the reasons I couldn't get the GM card:
- Your TransUnion credit report shows you have recently been reported as past due on one or more account(s) with another credit issuer or lender.
- We couldn't find sufficient information on secured installment accounts within your TransUnion credit report.
- You have a low credit limit and insufficient payment history on your existing accounts within your TransUnion credit report.
Enjoy the knowledge from my rejection!
I wouldn't worry too much about this one, GS wants to get out of the credit card game, I would be surprised if they are taking any new accounts

If they want to offload the card to another bank and get paid for it, they should be approving some new accounts (and more selectively than they did with Apple Card in the past).
