Would the NFCU More Rewards open the Amex door?

Always wondered in Apping for the NFCU More Rewards opens the door in Amex's eyes if its your first in the network. Does it work that way at all? Not that Amex has a high barrier to entry but always wondered if it makes it easier. Would they even know?

No, it would not.  The More Rewards card is issued by NFCU and simply runs on the Amex payment processing network which NFCU pays a fee to use.  But its not related to Amex in any other way.

As already mentioned, no it will not. More Rewards AmEx runs on the AmEx payment network and is the only connection to AmEx it has.
