He is no longer a student (used to be) So he did apply for QS1 and was approved. The $39 AF isnt huge especially since its a 1 year AF and i know we will be able to get it removed and refunded through the EO.
CL = $300 Of which is awesome because its a start
Trust me after fighting so hard on trying to remove Collections and other baddies, this is a wonderful start!
Congrats! Cap One is a good company when it comes to giving people a chance. They did for me.
I would try for a 2nd something...Just for AAoA purposes, getting a 2nd card going with the 1st has worked better for many people. It has been stated that 3 is best for maxing fico score, but I would at least try to get a 2nd for now. INQ during rebuilding are minor, you probably aren't buying a house before those INQ become irelevant anyway, so go for 2.
congrats on approval! I've had my ups and downs over the years and having collections/judgments regardless of their dates makes it sometimes literally impossible to get even the 'easiest' card. Cap1 is lenient, but I have a friend who couidn't even qualify and she had much less issues on her reports. $300 is definitely the minimum, but getting the approval is all that matters. In one year, that $300 can be $3000 with proper use and responsibility. Good luck house hunting..
It will only drop by another fraction if you get a 2nd card.probably down to 2.6 years or something like that. Having 2 cards allows you to have 1 show a balance when statement cuts and the other show 0. That is a score booster in and of itself. 3 accounts is what people say allows for max fico scoring in relation to credit cards. Everybodys goals are different, so find a path that meets your (and his goals). Were it me, I would def get at least a 2nd card now so they age together.
Good Luck, if there's a will there's a way.... You guys seem pretty determined and strategic, Keep everyone posted...
