Profile dependent  although FS is minimum $5k snd is harder to get. Some people can pull off 25k instant approvals on either card while others cannot.

Do you have history with Navy?

In theory the limits should be the same between them. NFCU just has a higher bar to entry for the Flagship with the $5K minimum. If it's your first card, I would go for the Platinum to try to avoid a denial unless you have been a member for some time. There have been people with FICOs in the 800s who got declined the Flagship as their first card.

I agree, the people who got approved for Flagship for their first card, well grats!

Have seen plenty of first time denial's. Now is probably not the time to try one's luck.

With those stats and the time with Navy, I would apply for The card that would best fit your needs. IMO

Keep in mind, there is no "Sign up bonus" on the Flagship right now.  (Normally $500 for $4000 spend)

My guess is that will be back live March 2021.

Good Luck!

@Anonymous, One other option is to get the MoreRewards card, with the generous 30,000 point Sign up bonus

if you can meet the spend?

"Open a Navy Federal More Rewards American Express® Card, and you’ll earn 30,000 bonus points (a $300 value) when you spend $3,000 within 90 days of account opening."

Can be deposited to your NFCU acct. or statement credit.

Then product change it to another card, once you are credited the SUB.

Just a thought.
