Wanted to throw my info out there for people looking for data points. My Fico 8's were 710, 706 and 699 for TU,EQ,EX. I had derogatories from over 2 years ago, but was at 5% CC UTI. We just closed on our house 2 weeks ago, and thought it was time to get the Chase Amazon Card I always wanted (especially for the $100 instant credit w/ Amazon). I spent hours researching approval odds and was sweating bullets when I went for the app, I thought I might as well since I already had inquiries from my mortgage 2 months ago. And I got an instant approval for $3600!
While riding on that high, I went for the Amex BCP since I always wanted that card for groceries and have heard of high credit limits with Amex, and I got $1000...not as much I wanted but OK.
Then today, I wanted something to replace my daily driver Cap One QS (for recurring subscriptions/bills). I have been stuck at $4000 no matter how much I put on it, and they have rejected my cli requests for about 5+ years. So I looked for a decent 2% cash back card. Then I picked the PayPal Cashback since I heard they were more lenient on approvals. I app'ed and got approved for $1500.
So I think I am done for now lol. I have 5 credit cards before but about 3 of them are sock drawer'ed. My Capital One Platinum and BuyPower Card were retired a while ago, and I recently retired my Citi Double Cash as well...now I will retire my Capital One QS too. Capital One has not given any CLI's and my QS has been stuck at 4K for over 5 years. Citi is also stuck as 1.5K. So I will use my Discover more since they have given my 2 cli's in the past few months since Ive been utilizing their rotating categories, and I will use the others as well.
TLDR version. Got 3 approvals in 2 days and excited to boost the CL on these!
Buying a house certainly helps the stability side when companies are considering credit. I have a friend that really did not get much love on the cc side. They used US Bank for a home loan, and within a month of closing received a pre-approval offer from US Bank for 5K SL. They applied and that was the begining of their cc cycle. They only had 1 paid card loan and a gap card prior to that. The home loan help them get cards from Amex, US Bank and Citi. Prior to closing on their home they were denied once from each lender. Great job, keep up the good work.
Exciting on your approvals.
Congratulations to you!!!!
Congrats on your 3 cards approval!
