Hey All!
Today I got approved for the Amex BCE! I can't believe it still an hour later! I read the forum all the time and want to thank you for all input and good advice I find here! it's $1000 SL, and my foot is in the door!
Here's a little breakdown on me:
My Ex score is 623 (got that from experian website) as of 1/28/2017
TU-655 EQ645 (from experian website)
AAoA- 6mo
OTL- 10yrs
1 open Auto- $306 payment, Just refinanced from17% to 8% in November 17
1 open CC Cap1 QS $750 - 0% UTIL opened Apr 16
2 ChargeOffs from Nov 2010 Should fall Nov-17
No current Collections/late Payments
Income- 26k annual
FAKOs from CK 669TU-666-EQ but it said my approval odds were "good" for the BCE
All in all it was against my better judgement to app for it. But I just had this feeling! Last week I got a pre-approval from BofA for a Bankamericard rewards card but I really don't like BofA and I know those don't count for much as pre-apps go. But I had been getting them from wal-mart and chevron and alot of Sync Banks. And I knew I wanted to improve my profile but not with one of those. So after alot of reading and consideration, I decided 1 HP wasn't gonna kill me. I only had 4 the last 1 1/2 years. I've always wanted a AMEX, so I thought what the heck! I've apped once before and got inistant decline, and even though I had a good feeling, I thought it was gonna be decline. So I clicked submit and after about 10 seconds the screen changed. I was expecting, we're sorry... but it asks me a question, I forget exactly what it said, something about another card, and I thought, just another step in the decline process, but I ansewered no I believe, then it says, would you like to add an authorized user? And it DAWNS on me! I DID IT!!
IS this the lowest AMEX approval you ever saw? In all my searching this is! LOL
Anyways just thought I would share! I'm glad to have my foot in the door and counting down to the 61st day to get the 3X CLI! Thanks AMEX and thank you for reading!
Congratulations on your AMEX BCE approval!
CSP- Cap One QS- Barclay JetBlue MC- BOA Travel Rewards- Synchrony Walmart MC- Barclay Apple Rewards- BP Gas- CF- Credit One- Milestone
Congratulations OP!! By chance, did your score go up any from 01/28 to now? And was it the BCE or the regular Amex Everyday? I ask because I tried for the BCE yesterday with an Experian FICO of 644 and they declined my application. The only denial reason they listed was my FICO score. Maybe I will try again in a few months.
Congratulations again OP
Hey, Tyler, I don't really know if it's the lowest SL, but you got in with Amex, and that's an amazing feat! This is a great card, so treat it especially nice, and it will grow up quickly. Good luck to you when it's time to hit that special button! Enjoy!

Congrats on the approval. I would give it about 6 months before trying for the 3X CLI in order to show Amex some responsible payment history.
MRsolis,
Yes, I just checked and my score did go up +14 in Febuary. So it sits at a 639. And It was 625 in January. And It is a BCE and not the Everyday. You know, this credit business is a weird thing. How it works and why some get declined and some get approved. The only thing I can thing of is maybe they pulled TU for me. And my TU is stronger for me. I just checked that and its a 670 now. I have read in rare cases that they pull TU. I wish I would of slowed down a bit on the approval and read more. But I didn't see much of way of what they pulled and if they'll ever tell me what they pulled is lost on me. Good luck in the future though! Your profile looks strong. Hope to catch up to you!
Thanks Weedeb,
I will def keep this card in good standing with close to 0 utl when the staements cut. As far as the lowest approval, I meant in score wise. But I did just learn my score was actually up +14 in Feb to a 639!
Congratulations!!
MRsolis,
Upon further review, I looked more into experian and got notification from Experian that AMEX in fact pulled my EX report. Go figure...

I agree, the approvals process can be confusing, but either way, I am glad I at least got my foot in the door. I think they only pull EX, but I could be wrong. Your credit profile is a little more clean than mine and older so that could be a factor. I think I am happy with what I have for now and will try for more in another 6 months or so. Congrats again and thank you for the response.
