Today I got approved for the Amex BCE! I can't believe it still an hour later! I read the forum all the time and want to thank you for all input and good advice I find here! it's $1000 SL, and my foot is in the door!
Here's a little breakdown on me:
My Ex score is 623 (got that from experian website) as of 1/28/2017
TU-655 EQ645 (from experian website)
AAoA- 6mo
OTL- 10yrs
1 open Auto- $306 payment, Just refinanced from17% to 8% in November 17
1 open CC Cap1 QS $750 - 0% UTIL opened Apr 16
2 ChargeOffs from Nov 2010 Should fall Nov-17
No current Collections/late Payments
Income- 26k annual
FAKOs from CK 669TU-666-EQ but it said my approval odds were "good" for the BCE
All in all it was against my better judgement to app for it. But I just had this feeling! Last week I got a pre-approval from BofA for a Bankamericard rewards card but I really don't like BofA and I know those don't count for much as pre-apps go. But I had been getting them from wal-mart and chevron and alot of Sync Banks. And I knew I wanted to improve my profile but not with one of those. So after alot of reading and consideration, I decided 1 HP wasn't gonna kill me. I only had 4 the last 1 1/2 years. I've always wanted a AMEX, so I thought what the heck! I've apped once before and got inistant decline, and even though I had a good feeling, I thought it was gonna be decline. So I clicked submit and after about 10 seconds the screen changed. I was expecting, we're sorry... but it asks me a question, I forget exactly what it said, something about another card, and I thought, just another step in the decline process, but I ansewered no I believe, then it says, would you like to add an authorized user? And it DAWNS on me! I DID IT!!
IS this the lowest AMEX approval you ever saw? In all my searching this is! LOL
Anyways just thought I would share! I'm glad to have my foot in the door and counting down to the 61st day to get the 3X CLI! Thanks AMEX and thank you for reading!
Congrats on BCE approval! This may be the lowest EX score I've seen that resulted in an approval. Low UTIL and (effectively) no INQ probably worked in your favor. I'm curious as to what kinds of terms AMEX offered you.
Sunrise,
Thanks! By terms I'm thinking you mean APR and all. I did get the introductory 0% for the first 12 months, The sign up bonus of $100 for the first 1K in first 3 months. Then 23.49% at the end of the 0% I know 23.49% is high but I never carry a balance. Nor do I plan on carrying one(knock on wood). LOL
Now just treat AMEX right and reap the rewards.
Congrats. Foot in the door, now use responsibly and you will enjoy them.

Good plan!
AMEX is very good about lowering APR, but you'll need to wait until your promo period is over to ask. My BCE has my lowest purchase APR at 8.75%, but I was approved with a rate closer to 19% (IIRC, 18.99%). With your current profile, the APR is still competitive...even more so with the intro 0% period and bonus. What CL did they give you?
Sunrise,
They gave me $1,000 CL to start with! Thats good to hear that they are flexible with APR! After the promo rate ends, hopefully my 2 baddies left will be a distant memory for all parties involved and I can get into the higher teens. I'm projecting to be in the low 700's by that time too!
Impressive! nice job...
