AMEX 61 day X3 CLI!

I was just approved for the X3 CLI from AMEX! I started off with a low SL of $1000, so now I have $3000 SL. I am about $600 dollars off from the 30,000 bonus miles for spending $1000 in the first 3 months. I got the card because I travel and wanted the points. Is it worth me putting $600 worth of charges in the next months to get the bonus? I'm conflicted.

Sure why not as long you pay it off before the statement date.

Congrats! Nice work. The answer for the SUB of course is don't just go blow 600 dollars on things that you wouldn't buy otherwise, BUT, if you can find 600 worth of spend anywhere that you can put through the card then it's absolutely worth getting the 30,000 miles; that's a great bonus for 1000 in 3 months!

Super Congrats on your Amex 3x CLI!

Allow me to help you resolve your "conflict":

If you're going to spend the money anyway,

then the answer is Yes. In addition, 30,000 bonus

miles equates to ~$300, which means your $1,000

"spend" will only be $700. You can think of it as a refund,

or you can think of it as Amex thanking you for your

business by paying you to spend your own money. Either way

you look at it, this is a great deal. Congrats once again!

Congrats!  Yes you should go for the sub.  Typically when I get a new card that has a minimum spend, I try to plan it around some big expenses I may have coming up so I don't have any issues getting the sign up bonus.  Those points could be worth some good money to you but of course like everyone said, don't put yourself $600 in debt if it's not within your budget.
