I hear you, that makes sense.

Yes--I'm well aware of the AMEX CLI "rinse and repeat" process. But I did want to leave a little bit on the table in case I decide to accept that PRG 50K/$2K spend offer--and possibly app for one of their business CCs a little later--without being to asked to lower CLs in order to get an approval.
Congrats on the CLI.
I hear your concerns about not wanting to push the limits with AMEX, but my recent experience included getting a 5th revolver, an automatic credit line reallocation, and net increase of $5k of overall revolver exposure. If AMEX wants you as a customer, they make accomodations to your file to allow you to add cards. I could not get a 6th revolver, so there are limits, but they do try to make it easy to be a customer.
The other consideration is, no overlimit fees on the revolvers, you just need to pay them down to within the limit after the statement. The revolver and POT limits are just suggestions, they will approve or deny charges as they see fit. And for those who cause AMEX some alarm, those revolver limits get reduced PDQ.
