Got my AMEX BCE in 2017 with a starter $1,000 limit. I was over the moon to have an AMEX card, my first since college and 6 months out of Ch 13 discharge. I did not IIB AMEX.
Didn't get the 3x CLI at 61 days, but got an auto CLI to $3,000 sometime after. After 180 days, requested and got the CLI to $9,000.
After 180 days, didn't get the CLI to $27,000 as I had a balance on the BCE (about 20% UTI) and an AMEX personal loan and they didn't like that.
Today I asked for $24,500 and got it! I know some will say I left $$$ on the table and I'm okay with that. Took $500 and transferred it over to my low-limit Hilton card.
I'm pretty happy with my rebuild from CH13 DC and $100,900 total credit line in less than 3 years!
