Excited to get my hands on my first "charge card!" I saw the effective AF as $30 for me, and with me paying $56/yr for a basic AAA membership, I decided to get my refund and go for the Gold (which has Premium Roadside Assistance, which actually provides better benefits than my AAA)! I think this card will be a keeper since I fly at least once a year and go to Shake Shack / Cheesecake Factory at least once a month.
Looking forward to upgrading my CSP in Feb to the CSR for my big Europe trip next summer. Although the Chase Sapphire family provides great benefits, I feel so much better with AMEX being that they offered me my 2nd credit card when I only had a $300 limit on my Cap One student card at the time. Also a big fan of AMEX's online interface and quality of US based customer service reps (I feel that Chase has been going downhill over the last year).
Haven't seen an HP from AMEX yet.. hoping it'll just be an SP and new acct.
Congratulations!! Did you go for the gold or rose gold card?
I went for the regular gold. Should have a picture if it shows up tomorrow.
Congrats on your Amex Gold Card approval! Enjoy your 50k points.
The Premium Roadside Assitance saves me $8 a month on my insurance.

Where did you get a $100 cash back sub? Congrats.
It's a 20% statement credit for the first $500 restaurant spend in the first 3 months. Only for new card member.
Congrats on your new Amex!
