AMEX Gold Approval with hopefully killer SUB: Tips?

Just got approved for first AMEX and its a Gold. I applied after my 100k offer for the PLat went away for some reason.

 

50k MR after $1,000. That seems incrediblly easyand a decent place to start I suppose.

 

Does anyone have any tips for the Gold card using credits, get EAF down etc?

Thanks! I was pretty bummed when the 100k offer disappeared so didnt want to miss out on this one after seeing the general offer went down to 25k MR.

 

And they apparently won't expedite the card shipment with new accounts, most unfortunate given my upcoming trip.

Saw that in another thread - effective annual fee (or, the annual fee offset by the SUB and spend credits).
