I'm really happy I'm finally in the Amex family even though I didn't get the 2 for one that some have gotten - I figured I would of had a really good chance since scores were good and besides my 2 personal loans I only have balances on my 2 navy cards that I've been making double payments on $4400 balance and $6100 balance.
The denial letter said I've reached the maximum number and type of cards that we will approve within the period of a few months that's the exact wording that was in the letter. These are the only 2 cards that I applied for in the last year and the one before this was a LOC with my credit union approved 15k.
I also had a mail pre qualify offer for the Amex gold but went for the BCE and before applying I did the Amex pre qualify site and nothing showed up. For the Chase when I logged in I had offers for the sapphire , freedom unlimited and a used car loan - so I went for the freedom unlimited , once I get the card I'm calling in to see if they can raise the limit and for the BCE I will put it to use - so I can build the limit.
inquires transunion 11 equifax 8 experian 9 - from mostly car shopping and financing a furnace for a rental. 1 (30 day late 6 years ago closed auto loan).
hopefully end of the year I will be in the 800 club - goal is to pay the 2 navy cards off and get some CLIs and that should do it .
Chase pulled both experian and Transunion
Amex pulled experian
Congrats on your approvals!
Just remember for future reference, normally the Amex 2 for 1, is one revolver and one charge card.
From what you posted, you apped for 2 revolvers. (Unless I missed something).
Try for the Magnet in 3-6 months and you should be golden!

Super Congrats on your Amex and Chase cards!
And yes: as previously posted, the Amex 2 for 1 is
one revolver and one charge card. Please keep us
posted on your progress. Congrats again!
Congrats OP! You should be good to get the second Amex revolver in a few days. Unless things have changed Amex has a rule that you can only get one new credit card every 5 days and two new cards every 90 days. So if you had just waited 5 days from the original app you should have been approved for both!
From one Hoosier to another, Conrats on the AMEX approval. The BCE was my first AMEX as well. I got it in December of 2017, then the EDC in around March/April and the Magnet in June. As sated just give it a little time and let them get nice and cozy with you. After the 61 days hit them up for the 3X CLI and then apply for another revolver if you want.
For what it's worth, and from personal experience they seem to really love it when you swipe that card a lot. The BCE was my daily driver until I got the EDC. I've been using that to hit the SUB andafter that I'll switch my typical spend to the Magnet.
Congrats!!! Nicely done!
Amex Green Card holder looking forward to my one year upgrade to the PRG Next Spring!
Congratulations on your approval!
