What the?! I dread when the wife tells me she has to go grocery shopping as I know what the bill will be like.
we have 2 young teenage kids that I believe have tapeworms since they both can't stop eating. I would be so happy spending that little a month on groceries.
@Anonymous wrote:i'm barely buying groceries right now either but that can change in the future, it still is a nice card and its got a nice $200 sub. i'm just buying anything on it right now to hit my sub
My sentiments exactly @creds. At the start of my Rebuild, I decided that I needed a base of 4 cards - Discover, MasterCard, AmEx, and VISA. Chose the BCE and that nice SUB. About 17 months later, I am still VERY Happy with!
Congrats on the Amex luv!

My grocery bill could be much LARGER @HulkCreditSmash, but I am very cost-conscious when I am spending money!

Thanks @Jkrause702 - I wish Discover was just as generous with their CLIs as AmEx is!
@Marz2002 wrote:Well myFICO family, it's been 181 days since my last AmEx BCE CLI. So, I decided to Spin the Wheel!
First, a little background information. I started my Rebuild Project on April 4, 2018 with a Discover $10,000 SL. Next, picked up Paypal 2% MC on April 16th ($700 SL) and PayPal Credit on April 30th ($2,700 SL).
Then, researched the AmEx BCE approvals on the FORUMS and decided to cold app on May 31, 2018 and Approved with a $1,000 SL!
62 days later, I requested the 3X CLI and AmEx countered with $2,000. Next, 181 days later, I reqested a 3X CLI and AmEx countered with $4,000.
Which brings me to today and I requested my usual 3X CLI and AmEx countered with $8,000. It looks like my BCE is a 2X CLI card.
Monthly Spend - Groceries only, approximately $150 - $200, PIF after statement cut.
Data Points:
EX - FICO8: 731, per AmEx
Income: $100K+
Util: 6% (I PIF except for my Citi DC card which is currently at 27% Util due to a BT for 0% APR)
DTI ratio: 22%AoOA - 12 years, 5 months
AAoA - 2.5 years
AoYA - 5 months (my Apple Card and NFCU cashRewards card haven't reported to the CRAs yet)
Inquiries: EX - 10 in last 2 years. 2 in last 12 months
As a side note - 6 months after AmEx approved my BCE card, I noticed a pre-approval for the Cash Magnet card, apped and approved with a $15,000SL!
That's a great post Marz -- chockful of useful DPs. Thank you.
And Congrats! on your growth with Amex. You've got it going on for sure.

You're welcome @James_A, the myFICO community has helped me with information that is beyond measure and I am very happy to share my DPs to help others on their credit journeys. AmEx is my favorite lender and I plan to add more of their cards to my portfolio as soon as I get more established at NFCU!
